Get to Know Dr. Funderlich
Dr. Funderlich is currently at The Johns Hopkins University studying Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cell Technology. This is the only program in the country to actually focus on the technology portion of the stem cell industry which is another way of saying he laboratory component. This was key in Dr. Funderlich’s decision to pursue the program. It allows him to actually work with the stem cells used in the clinic directly. Meaning the patients at the clinics he manages get the highest and safest quality cellular therapies. Beyond laboratory technologies, the program teaches him laboratory techniques like how to isolate and expand human stem cell populations. Which is a common stem cell technique used abroad and much more rarely in the United States. There is a heavy biology component to the program with a focus on stem cell physiology, bioethics, and molecular / gene therapy. Finally, Johns Hopkins is consistantly fighting with Harvard as the number one medical research university in the country. This allows Dr. Funderlich access to world class resources for his current research endevor’s.

Currently Dr. Funderlich is a primary educator for continuing medical education. Continuing medical education are the mandatory post graduation training hours doctors need to keep an active license. He is sought after to teach physicians from coast to coast. Mostly done through state associations, such as the Wisconsin Chiropractic Association, but sometimes for private organizations as well. Current topics Dr. Funderlich Lectures on include; Regenerative Medicine, Laboratory understanding and interpertation, Medical Device Safety and implementation, as well as developmental neuro-immunology.

The primary functional medicine provider at multiple locations is Dr. Funderlich. He has always believed in an integrative and holistic approach to care. He has an array of experience starting by working in his first integrative clinic environment with one of his medical mentors Dr. John Metcalf in 2017. After leaving Pennsylvania the Operation Room was his next adventure performing intra operative electro diagnostics. It was during this time that he started his second practice in New Jersey. While working as a chiropractic neurologist he was taught the power of Hyperbaric Oxygen from Dr. Jason Sonners and started integrating regenerative modalities, functional medicine, and neurologic rehabilitation. Dr. Funderlich has always had a passion for children and it was during this time that he became board eligible for his fellowship in childhood neuro developmental disorders through the Interdisciplinary association of functional neurosciences and rehabilitation. After moving to North Carolina Dr. Funderlich made a quick pit stop in Idaho allowing him to meet and connect with Dr. Penick which would eventually lead to a working relationship. Once back in the Carolinas his close friend Dr. Jerome Reruca asked him to co-found a regerative medicine distribution company focusing on integrative protcols for stem cell clinics. From then on Dr. Funderlich found his passion for stem cell biology and creating the integrative program we have today along with pushing for greater access to life changing treatments for all citizens in the United States.
